The Fielding ADU Pasadena Guarantee
Every addition, garage conversion, and ADU we build in Pasadena carries one promise in writing: if it isn’t done right, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s the Garrison Standard, and it’s been the rule on our job sites since 2006. The price goes on paper before any work starts, and the guarantee goes on paper too. What it covers, how long it runs, and exactly how we fix a problem if one shows up. No fine print that softens it, no phone tag to chase it down. Reed Calloway, Owner of Fielding ADU Pasadena, signs off on every job personally.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship for 365 days. The Done Right Promise covers defects in our construction work for one full year from completion. If a door binds, a seam separates, or a finish fails because of how we built it, we return and correct it at no charge.
- Written price before any work starts. You approve a number in writing before a single nail is driven. That number is the number on the final invoice, no change orders snuck in, no surprises at the end.
- Written guarantee terms. The Guarantee is spelled out on paper: what it covers, how long it runs, and exactly how we make it right if something fails. You keep a copy. We keep a copy. There’s no ambiguity to argue about later.
- Background-checked, uniformed crew. Every person who steps onto your Pasadena property is verified before they set foot there. You’ll know exactly who is on site, and they’ll be in uniform.
- Clean site, every day. We leave the job site tidy at the end of each workday. Construction is messy by nature; your yard doesn’t have to be.
- A live person on the phone, around the clock. You call at noon or midnight, a person answers. No voicemail maze, no callback queue. If you have a question about your project, you get a human.
- Permit handling done by the book. Pasadena has its own planning and building department, and we handle the permit process the right way. The Garrison Code applies here: show up in the window, price in writing, by the book, leave it clean, stand behind it for a year.
What the Done Right Promise Covers in Plain Terms
The 365-Day Done Right Promise is the backbone of the Garrison Standard. If the work fails inside that year because of our workmanship, we return and correct the defect at no charge. That’s the whole promise. We don’t pro-rate anything, we don’t ask you to sign a release first, and we don’t drag our feet on scheduling the callback.
What does a covered workmanship defect look like? A garage conversion where drywall tape separates along a seam. A room addition where a door stops latching because the framing settled incorrectly. An ADU where flashing wasn’t installed properly and water works its way in during a Pasadena winter rain. These are the things a one-year guarantee is built for. Materials that wear out through normal use have their own manufacturer terms, and we’ll point you to those. Our guarantee covers the work our hands did.
The promise has a step-by-step process. You call us and describe the problem. We send someone out to look at it. If it’s on us, we schedule the repair and do it. Done. The only thing we ask is that you tell us about a problem when you first notice it, not a year after you noticed it. Small fixes are always cheaper than big ones, and we’d rather fix a loose piece of trim than rebuild a wall.
Our Satisfaction Promise

Workmanship guarantees cover defects. But satisfaction runs deeper than a checklist. If you walk through a finished room addition on final day and something doesn’t feel right, we want to hear it before the crew packs up. Not because we’ll argue with you about it, but because it’s a lot easier to adjust while everyone is still on site.
Here’s how the make-it-right process works if something isn’t up to standard. You bring it up with the project lead. We assess it honestly. If it’s a defect, the guarantee kicks in and we fix it. If it’s a matter of the finish not matching what you approved on the written plan, we review the written scope together and figure out where the gap is. And if the concern is something we genuinely missed, we own it and correct it. That’s the point of putting everything on paper before we start: there’s a written record of what “right” means on your project.
We also honor the Free Second Visit provision inside the guarantee year. If the work fails, we return at no charge and correct the defect. One trip, covered by the promise, no invoice attached. That applies to every ADU, garage conversion, and room addition we build for Pasadena homeowners.
Licensed & Insured Backing
Anybody can hand you a piece of paper with the word “guarantee” on it. The question is what stands behind that paper. In California, the real answer is licensing and insurance. We operate as a licensed and insured contractor, which means the state has verified our credentials and there’s actual financial backing if something goes sideways. Insurance isn’t a marketing line; it’s the mechanism that makes a guarantee enforceable.
Licensed and insured also means the work gets done to code. Pasadena’s building department reviews the plans, inspects the construction, and signs off on the final product. Your warranty paperwork means more when the building itself passed inspection. We don’t cut that corner, ever. The Garrison Code says by the book, and by the book is how the permits get pulled and the inspections get passed.
Why We Put It in Writing

Most construction disputes happen because two people remember a conversation differently. Written documents end that. The written price means you know the cost before we start. The written guarantee means you know what happens if something fails. The written scope means you know what’s included and what isn’t. Three documents, all in plain language, all handed to you before the first nail is driven.
That is the Garrison Standard, the operating rule for every Fielding ADU Pasadena project since 2006. It isn’t a slogan; it’s how we run jobs. Show up in the window. Price in writing. By the book. Leave it clean. Stand behind it for a year.
